In May The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) was thrilled to announce former England rugby captain Mike Tindall as a new patron. Mike’s father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003, and it was through his parents that Mike became aware of the pioneering research work of CPT. To mark the occasion Mike visited the labs of Professor Roger Barker at The John Van Geest Centre for Brain Repair, Cambridge where he learned more about Professor Barker's research funded by CPT.

Mike also hosted the 6th annual ISPS HANDA Mike Tindall Celebrity Golf Classic at the Belfry Golf Club in May. CPT was delighted to have been chosen as one of the beneficiary charities for the event which saw celebrities from the world of rugby, golf and entertainment come together for a round of fantastic golf, followed by a gala dinner in the evening with a live band. This wonderful day raised well over £100,000 and CPT is so grateful to Mike Tindall and his guests, who generously organised and supported the event.
