Edinburgh Marathon Voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runner’s World in 2008, the Edinburgh Marathon is a must for all running enthusiasts. The fantastic route starting in Edinburgh takes runners past its iconic landmarks including Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh Castle and the Salisbury Crags, before heading along the East Lothian coastline offering picturesque views. The race ends with a descent of almost 90 metres to near sea level, making this one of the fastest marathon routes in the world, perfect for those wanting to achieve a personal best or planning their first marathon.
