My father has had Parkinson's for almost 15 years, and I've watched him fight the condition every day.  He and my mother have been energetic supporters of the CPT from its earliest days, and I wanted to do something to support the Trust's excellent work.  In 2012 and 2013 I ran the London Marathon, raising a total of £3900 - and helping Cambridge University win the marathon Varsity Match in the process.  I'll admit that I actually enjoy training for and running marathons, but as long as people are willing to donate, I am happy to use the marathon as an excuse to ask them to support this excellent cause!

For 2014 I have set myself an extra challenge: to run in a bulky costume, dressed as the London Gherkin (30 St Mary Axe).  Making the costume out of papier mache, wood and old rucksack parts has been a labour of love, but hopefully it will help me raise more than ever before for the CPT!
