Kit Noble cycles from John O’Groats to Land’s End for Parkinson’s

Supporter Kit Noble recently set off on his bike to begin the immense challenge of cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End in a bid to raise awareness and funds for Cure Parkinson’s.

Kit was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019 at the age of 64 and decided to take on the challenge with his good friend Piers Ballard after the pair discovered a shared desire to complete the iconic John O’Groats to Land’s End ride. With Kit cycling in support of Cure Parkinson’s and Piers for The Miles Frost Fund, together they covered the 1,150 miles in just 12 days on their electric bikes. Accompanying the duo on their cycling adventure was Piers’ wife, Kate, driving ‘Heidi the hotel campervan’, with Penny, Kit’s wife joining them later on in their journey. Penny said:

We are so very pleased that the fundraising went so well and hope the money can be used for valuable research. This is a shattering diagnosis to receive and Kit rose to the challenge spectacularly and determinedly.

Kit has always been a keen cyclist but taking on this legendary challenge is truly inspirational. As well as being a great hobby, Kit has noticed that cycling has had a positive effect on his Parkinson’s symptoms. His wife Penny said:

Kit loves his new bike; he says it makes him stop shaking as soon as he starts to pedal and puts his bottom on the seat! He is training so hard despite having so much else in his life.

Not only have Kit and Piers completed a challenge of immense physical endurance, but Kit has raised over £5,000 for Cure Parkinson’s pioneering research. A truly phenomenal amount! Thank you so much Kit for your inspirational fundraising efforts, we are hugely grateful for your support.
