The Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland committee raise over £40,000 for The Cure Parkinson's Trust This year the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland committees have come together and raised over £40,000 in support of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT). Over the year the three committees have hosted a range of wonderful events from a Classic Cars open day to an inspiring garden talk by gardening expert Susie Pasley-Tyler. One of their biggest events was an opera evening at the beautiful Rockingham Castle which took place in October. The popular event was generously sponsored by Greensill (with support from Sister & Co), hosted by James and Lizzie Saunders Watson and produced and directed by Cassandra Thomas of Renaissance Opera. Meriel Buxton, from the Leicestershire Committee said: “The event was a sell-out within days of the tickets becoming available, and an evening which more than lived up to expectations. A reception in the Great Hall followed by an excellent candle-lit dinner for 80 people stretching the length of the Long Gallery at Rockingham interspersed with some sixteen of the best loved arias performed by professional opera singers in full costume made for an evening which no-one who was there will ever forget. An expensive event to lay on which by its quality prompted unstinting support from many of those attending. Without the initial backing of Greensill, the leading provider of working capital finance, none of this would have been possible.” CPT would like to thank the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland committees for their continued support and incredible fundraising efforts.
