The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) was recommended to Greatstone as the perfect charity to partner with by Mr Tim Bracher the company’s current head of Customer Services and Marketing, who lives with Parkinson’s.

Greatstone chose the Trust as their preferred charity because of their proven track record in cutting edge research which brings hope to thousands (or millions) of sufferers and their families worldwide.

Greatstone’s modest contribution is to raise funds effortlessly via the Greatstone online e-commerce engine and encourage their clients to donate to the Trust
To make this possible, Greatstone has updated its website shopping mechanism to include a soft opt-in widget. This will allow clients to donate a percentage of the net value of their shopping cart to The Cure Parkinson’s Trust. Greatstone will also include a link to the Trust’s “Giving Page” in all corporate communication literature.

Greatstone hopes to lead the way in encouraging other e-commerce facing businesses to integrate charitable giving in their payment gateway. This could prove to be a powerful fundraising tool for organisations like The Cure Parkinson’s Trust which relies on charitable giving to achieve its goals.

Current e-commerce statistics state that 40 percent of worldwide internet users have bought products or goods online via desktop, mobile, tablet or other online devices. This amounts to more than 1 billion online buyers and is projected to continue growing.

The Cure Parkinson’s Trust believe strongly that with the help of organisations like Greatstone, a cure for Parkinson’s will be found.

We are therefore excited at the opportunity to be part of making this a reality.
