Sir Richard Nichols has died peacefully aged 77. Sir Richard co-founded the charity in 2005 with three other people with Parkinson’s. Their vision was clear –  to invest in the most promising research that would lead to treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

Retiring from his professional career as a solicitor in 2002, Richard co-founded the charity and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees between 2005 - 2013. Sir Richard has always been and will remain an inspiration. His wise counsel, gravitas and incredible humour, generosity of time, energy and enthusiasm and his determination guided, directed and shaped the work of the charity and we will miss him hugely.

In creating The Cure Parkinson’s Trust, Sir Richard has created a living legacy, an organisation that is determined to find ways to cure Parkinson’s, through building scientific collaboration and funding the best science that will fulfil his vision of a future without Parkinson’s.
