Cabbages & Kings Magazine
Together members of the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Committee led by Meriel Buxton and Toots Cowen have produced and printed a wonderful magazine called Cabbages and Kings to help raise funds for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust’s (CPT) research into a cure for Parkinson’s. The magazine includes features from writers such as best-selling author and CPT Patron Joanna Trollope OBE and TV writer, producer and comedian Paul Mayhew-Archer. With a foreword by author Terry Waite CBE, the magazine covers a range of topics from deep sea diving to gardening, country house opera to the memories of a High Court judge’s most interesting cases and the recollections of an ambassador and of a former Lord Lieutenant. A selection of photographs and drawings, as well as puzzles and challenges are also included, with the money raised helping to support CPT’s pioneering Parkinson’s research.
