Simon Cooper, Head of Specialty at AEGIS London, has been awarded the Lloyd’s Market Charity Award in recognition of his incredible work raising funds and awareness for The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT).

CPT was delighted to have been chosen as one of AEGIS London’s charity partners earlier this year by Simon who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017. Simon was instrumental in nominating AEGIS to become the lead sponsor of CPT’s Coast to Coast to Cure cycle challenge in June organising several professional events resulting in a final £70,000 being raised.

AEGIS London is a Lloyd’s of London syndicate that provides clients with specialist knowledge, continuity and security across many classes of insurance business. The Lloyd’s Market Charity Award is a long standing scheme to celebrate the voluntary and fundraising work of individuals across Lloyd’s Market. AEGIS London said:

“We are delighted that Simon has been awarded a Lloyd's Market Charity Award for his fundraising work on behalf of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust. Simon was presented the award at a celebratory reception held in the Adam Room at Lloyd’s London where Lloyd's Charities Trust also made a £4,000 donation to CPT. “

CPT's CEO, Will Cook attended Simon's award reception. Will said:

“On behalf of all at CPT I would like to extend the sincerest of thanks to Simon for the dedication he has shown The Cure Parkinson’s Trust. Thanks to Simon, Aegis became a significant part of the Coast To Coast To Cure event last June, and CPT is hugely grateful for the financial support the company has shown since our partnership began. Individuals like Simon enable us and inspire us to drive forward our search for a cure for Parkinson’s, and it is fantastic to see Simon’s hard work recognised through this award.”
