Tim Daber, keen supporter of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) along with the help of his family and friends, is on a mission to raise an amazing £100,000 for CPT over the next year.

On Tuesday 6th February Tim held an official launch party to kick start his fundraising quest at the beautiful riverside restaurant Tap and Kitchen in Oundle, Northamptonshire. Guests were treated to drinks and canapes along with a lively charity auction which saw fantastic prizes such as a city break for two to Florence and a trip in a traditional Norfolk sailing boat for six all sold to raise funds for CPT’s research. Geoff Capes, the British former shot putter, world’s strongest man and good friend of Tim’s (pictured above) also attended the event to support his fundraising efforts. Tim said,

“What a fantastic evening we had in aid of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust! I’d like to say a special thanks to my amazing daughter and her terrific friend for selling all 1,000 raffle tickets to raise £1475; to my wonderful wife for her help, support, advice and artistic flair and thanks to everyone who attended for making it such a spectacular occasion.”

Tim plans to next take on the challenge of a 63 mile walk over 4 days around the Norfolk Coast in August. Fittingly named the 60/60 Walk, the route will see Tim and his team hike from Sea Palling to Hunstanton. Tim said,

"The idea of walking 60 miles to mark my 60th birthday seemed a fitting way to help reach my fundraising goal.”

Tim would be delighted to welcome any fellow walkers to join him for either all or part of his 60/60 Walk taking place from the 18th to the 21st August 2018. Please contact Tim directly for further details.
